Programme structure

This full-time, one-year programme is divided into three key components: core units, optional units, and a dissertation. The first term focuses on essential theories of finance and quantitative techniques, while the second allows you to specialise through elective units in areas such as derivatives, financial modelling and corporate finance. The final phase of the MSc is the dissertation, where you’ll identify, analyse, and present research on a financial topic of your choice, often linked to industry challenges or innovations in investment and digital finance. Competitive opportunities to collaborate with external partners may also be available.

The curriculum introduces you to the core theories and analytical tools that define contemporary finance. You’ll explore how markets operate, how firms manage capital risk and how returns are evaluated through quantitative techniques. The programme then allows you to specialise, tailoring your studies through a selection of optional modules aligned with your career goals.

Core module

These modules build your foundation in financial theory, valuation, investment management and quantitative analysis essential for understanding modern markets:

Optional module

These modules let you deepen your expertise in specialised areas such as derivatives, modelling, corporate finance and financial technology.

By the end of the year, you’ll have mastered the analytical and decision-making skills required to navigate complex financial markets.
