Programme Structure

This programme blends core computing principles with advanced training in financial technology and AI for data-driven finance.   At the start, you’ll take one of two foundation units based on your technical background. If you’re new to coding, Software Development: Programming and Algorithms for Financial Technology will introduce you to programming and algorithm design in a financial context. If you already have programming experience, you’ll take Statistical Computing and Empirical Methods for Financial Technology, focusing on data analysis and statistical modelling.   Your unit will be finalised after arrival in consultation with your personal tutor.   You’ll then progress to core modules, including Large-Scale Data Engineering, Introduction to Financial Technology, Introduction to AI and Data Analytics, Advanced Financial Technology and the Financial Technology Group Project.   The programme concludes with the Financial Technology Individual Project, where you’ll plan, execute and present original work on a real-world fintech challenge, integrating your learning across technology, data, and finance.

The curriculum equips you with the technical and analytical skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving world of digital finance. 

You’ll explore the design and structure of financial technologies, learn how to handle large-scale financial data and develop an applied understanding of AI and data analytics for fintech systems.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows: 

  • India: An average overall grade of 60-70% in a numerate science, grade depending on the undergraduate institution.
  • An upper second-class honours degree (2.1, 60% or higher) in a numerate science or an international equivalent.
  • Numerate science subjects include: Accounting, Aeronautical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Astrophysics, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Data Science, Econometrics, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic – Engineering, Finance, Genetics, Geology / Earth Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies, Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medicine, Mining Engineering, Neuroscience, Nuclear Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, Psychology, Software Engineering, Statistics, Systems Engineering.

Profile C:

Standard XII Certificate Examination with a minimum English score of 75% for CISCE/CBSE, or 85% for Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal state boards.

India (taken no more than 7 years before the start date of the programme) OR

IELTS: 6.5 overall with 6.5 in all skills
